Count to 96

Once a day and everyday I count to 96
You’d think it easy, just to count
but its one of the hardest things I’ve ever done
Try it for yourself and see
just how hard it can be to not shed a single tear

It may be hard to do
and your face may be soaked in tears
for the memories of those who were lost,
for the injustice
but count to 96 everyday for the rest of your lives
I know I will even when I’m old and senile

To a red man 96 is the saddest of all numbers
and 15th April 1989 is the most tragic of all dates
