Dark Horses

I’d like to be an Ipswich Town
To give them a surprise
Be tipped to tumble straight back down
Then rise and rise and rise.

I’d like to be a blue and white
Told I’ll vanish without trace
While pundits smirk, so sure they’re right
I’m fighting for third place.

I’d like to be a Tractor Boy
A truly unknown name
Be liked by all, then beat them
At their own elitist game.

I’d like to be an Ipswich Town
So it really is a pity
That I’ve suspected for a while
I’m more like Bradford City.
