Does it matter?

Does it matter if we’re black or white?
Does it truly matter as we fight the same fight?
Does is matter if we wear red or blue,
follow teams wearing colours of a different hue?
Cut any of us, we’ll all bleed red,
But why cut, why not rejoice instead?
Martin Luther King had a dream,
that nobody applied to any football team.
He said “this situation can and will be changed”,
this situation caused by the weak and deranged.
It’s easy to stop the moronic chants,
it’s a question of won’t, not can’t.
But by showing will, then we can,
start with giving offenders lifetime bans.
In a beautiful game, hideous racism screams,
but I, like King, still have a dream.
