Don’t Kill The Move
¶ 1

The Move will occur with a pass, two, or three,
at a pace where opponents can’t cope.
We must, I am sure, make it fast, you and me.
It’s a race to deprive them of hope.
The Move will not linger,
its nose to its finger,
or stand on the ball. Disapprove!
These selfish transitions
just give back positions.
It’s what we call “killing the Move.”

You can lull your defender,
you snake-charming vendor,
if only you use your next gear
when you reach his own third,
and your ‘Enders are heard,
and the goal gapes its promising near.
But the touches you’re taking
while passes forsaking,
are giving back bad guys their groove.
It’s the speed of the Game
(not our own need for fame)
that will win it, so don’t kill the Move.
