When we clash with Paraguay?
Will you be there in Nuremberg
To watch us do or die?

When we take on the Swedes?
Will you be one of those
Who sees it live in Germanee?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 If so, count yourself lucky,
And make sure you behave.
Bring no shame on your Native Land,
And treat your hosts with grace.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 You’re not too keen on Germans?
They’re really very nice!
You’ll get on like a house on fire
If you heed this advice:

Or any such Death Camps.
But sing God Save The Queen with pride,
And pray we end up Champs.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Don’t mention Bomber Harris,
Speak not of busted dams.
Just sink a Stein of Loewenbrau
And try some cheese ‘n’ ham.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Don’t mention Dunkirk, Alamein,
The Crossing of the Rhine.
Talk not of cities laid to waste,
For now is not the time.

It’s time for making friends.
For Peace and Love and Brotherhood,
Not opening up old wounds.

They were not even born,
When Hitler’s Brownshirt, Jackboot Crew
Gave Europe cause to mourn.

Not Nineteen Forty Four.
Sit back, relax, enjoy the match,
And DON’T mention the War!
