great expectations
all over the place

McLaren to go..
or the FA to blame?

Notes

I was working at Reading FC yesterday doing poety workshops with 51 kids from 4 schools in their spacious study centre overlooking the green carpet and the stadium. Future hopefuls Jacob and Abdoulaye both aged 15 from the Youth Academy were there too helping out , inspiring the young. .One of them had just played for the England U-16s. The future right there . I switched off my moble and begged the coaches not to tell me the score from Russia, intending to watch the highlights. On arriving at Reading station at 6.30pm it was
impossible …you just knew. From train manager to buffet staff and pasenger..it was written all over every face.the reality of under-achievement again. Great expectations, great disapointments. What are we like?. So hey, come on Scotland and Northern Irleand,.but most of all. (against South Africa on Saturday)… .come on England (even though I hate Rugby.)
