Goodbye Sam – Thanks for the Memories

He was not too bad at markin’
But unfortunately he has made the switch,
From Swindon, east to Ipswich.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 He was to good for the Swindon,
and the County Ground, their humble abode.
Now he has left us, in favour of Portman Road.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He left on June the twenty third,
He had the agility of a bird.
It will go down in Swindon folk law
As a sad day, he scored goals galore.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 On his debut he scored a hatrick
He had a very powerful kick.
Will he ever grace the County Ground once more?
Perhaps, but what I do know is that his talent was raw.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 A goal for Swindon every other game,
He has certainly lived up to his nickname.
Swindon was holding him back
He was outstanding in attack
Yet also did well in tracking back.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Godluck in the future, Sam
You deserve to reach the highest level.
One day you’ll play in the top flight,
As for Swindon, well, we might.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 So here’s to you Sam,
We’re sad to see you go,
We wish you all the best,
Because you’re better than all the rest.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 You’ll be a Swindon legend forever.
