Gregory’s girdle
¶ 1

if only true love
followed our early desires
if only that nascent passion
could still start up fires
¶ 2
Leave a comment on verse 2 0
if only a pumping heart
could still beat as loud
if only to show the world
the love of which we’re proud
¶ 3
Leave a comment on verse 3 0
if only I had made it
into that kit of Royal Blue
even if only for just one game
and yes it had to be that hue
¶ 4
Leave a comment on verse 4 0
even after all these years
it’s still that same recurring dream
me leading them out
the pointman for the team
¶ 5
Leave a comment on verse 5 0
but in truth
I failed at every hurdle
still, at least I can now relax
and blame it on the girdle!
