Notes

Forest Green boss Mark Cooper* takes a lot of un-welcome stick even though we currently sit joint second with Tranmere behind a resurgent Lincoln City. At least we have his different touchline coats and jackets to admire.

In spite of all Dale Vince (our no-Green- holds- barred New Age Wind Powered owner) and Mark and his team have done for us all, a large on-going general discontent and frustration seems to stem way back to our being 17 plus years in this nightmare National League…where only one side goes up automatically.(As though we have some divine right to go up.!)

Play-offs (which we’ve reached for the past two seasons,) eventually release one more to go up. Missing out at Wembley in a May defeat to Grimsby, outnumbered by thousands shouting “FISH!” was always gonna be hard to take. Aside from this , there are always loads of once-big ex-league sides battling alongside us . This season is no different .

Over the years we’ve also seen Bristol Rovers, Oxford Utd, Wimbledon, Newport, Luton, Cheltenham, Crawley, Fleetwood etc all go up. We keep on and we keep it green too.

** Elliott Frear & Keiffer Moore , are two really popular FGR players who look like they are on their way to Motherwell** and Ipswich** respectively.

*** Lincoln Green, as in Rovers’ rivals Lincoln City and as worn by Robin Hood and his merry (?) men (allegedly?)
