Jamie Cureton

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Placed in the constellation Perseus,
he angles a tethered, synthetic planet
into the goal before an end of season cast
of sombrero-wearing fans: Daggers to the last.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Late witnesses observe a curious phenomenon
of a man who plays for love of the game
or until his body gives way in a still distant park:

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 a rare form of a dwindling type who animates
for next to nothing, needing only half a chance.

Notes

Jamie Cureton is still scoring goals in signature style in his 40th year. He was seen as such a legend by Reading fans that they presented him with a star chart as proof that they had named a newly discovered star after him.
