The players who had gone, and any new names
My mind was excited, my heart really sang
Then suddenly, it all disappeared with a bang

Bomb blasts in London, in bus and in train
Shock and terror gained control of my brain
With dread in my heart I picked up the phone
Relief swept through me, my son was at home

Grandchildren too, all safe and sound
Sympathy and anger then jostled for ground
Hundreds were injured; many were dead
The bus and the trains were spattered blood red

What now, does it matter, which team shall we play
When such Evil is practiced abroad
In Europe, in Africa, in the U.S. of A
And all in the holy name of God
