Some times you see him on the bench
And some times not at all
These days he keeps his own counsel
And talks when his foot meets the ball
Some say, he is over the hill, and all that kinda stuff
But they don’t know Robbie Fowler
For what beats in Robbie’s heart, is much more than just enough

For him the ball will bounce again, and tell another story
We’ll watch him grace the hallowed turf and play in all his glory
It’s times like this for Robbie that makes the going rough
But what beats in Robbie’s heart, is much more than just enough

I’m waiting for his day to come and feel that soon it will be seen
To make Houllier and Thommo think about… just how it might have been
To think about what you did to a lad who only spoke his mind
Pushing him through the ‘Shankley Gates’ was an error… badly timed

We know he was a mischievous lad and occasionally dropped himself in it
But that was part of his make up, and only the Liverpool spirit
A spirit that gives us humour and grit, and makes us outwardly tough
Cos’ that’s what beats in Robbie’s heart, and it’s much… much more than just enough
