My three girls
¶ 1

I look at their three little faces
fresh and carefree
All lined up on the sofa
Celtic shirts on, scarfs at the ready
Waiting for their Dad to shout
Thats my three girls

“Which way are we kicking Dad?”
“Is Larsson playing Dad?”
“Don’t swear Dad”
Thats my three girls

I go through agonies watching the game
they laugh as they watch me
I’m up, I’m down, head in hands
ecstatic one minute, desperate the next
they get me another beer
“Calm down Dad you’ll have a heart attack”
Thats my three girls

When it’s over, they look at me
in only the way they can, little angels
“Is it over Dad?”
“Did we win Dad?”
“Don’t worry Dad, it’s only a game”
Thats my three girls.
