We were promoted full of confidence… and finished last.
We played fancy football, won all the plaudits,
But all we’ve got to show for it is a parachute payment in the audits.

Abandoned us for Celtic, to take part in a two horse race…
if you were going to leave us, was that really the best place?
We’re only a top striker away from being a great team-
You should have seen it through; fulfilled the dream.

Now who are we going to get? McInnes? He always led the line well
But one season at St Johnstone? His worth is too soon to tell.
And what about Paul Ince- does it really need to be said?
He played for the Dogheads; not to mention he was a Red.

Who do I want? Surely, the choice is obvious.
Alan Curbishley- his Premier League experience, a real bonus
for a team withut a lot of cash to spend.
So, Peace- pull your finger out and put this wait to an end!
