Ode To Referees
¶ 1
Leave a comment on verse 1 0
They wear black and green
And seem very keen,
On obeying the rules
Set out by those FIFA fools.
¶ 2

Out there on the pitch
Whistle blowing, card raising,
Life is such a bitch
When players are sent off for nothing!
¶ 3

But he’s only doing his job
Or so they say,
But the fans wail and sob
When they don’t get their own way.
¶ 4

Errors are made
Free kicks given in mistake,
As the 90 minutes quickly fade
We need a goal for heaven’s sake!
¶ 5
Leave a comment on verse 5 0
Armed with a couple of clocks
Tick tock goes the time,
Pulling players about their socks
Are rolled down socks such a crime?
¶ 6
Leave a comment on verse 6 0
The linesmen are on the touchline
Purposely wearing out the grass,
Thinking they are doing fine
But they have no class!
¶ 7
Leave a comment on verse 7 0
The crowd scream as offside is ruled
Shouting with all of their mite,
Thinking the ref has them fooled
But come full time there will be a fight.
¶ 8
Leave a comment on verse 8 0
So as the referee ends the game
The crowd boo and hiss,
But maybe he was not to blame
For chances where taken but where missed!
