and no moral hero;

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 the absence of a handshake greeting
overshadowed this meeting;

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 a Ferdinand snub
and here’s the rub –
it stuck out like a sore thumb
hand retracted where he saw scum

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 ‘Get on with the Game’
a ceremony to inflame
where insults had preceded
and compromises not heeded

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 the actions of Ji Sung Park not expected
but solidarity detected

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 pity that the overriding action
wasn’t good enough, to counter all this infraction

Notes

Given the circumstances, and especially as there is an FA case pending, it’s hard to criticise Anton Ferdinand, in my view.

Yes in the context of the Hillsborough report, it pales into insignificance.

Yes I want to see racism eradicated from soccer.

I’d also like to see ‘sledging’ removed from sport.

As a result of this game, Chelsea lose their 100% season record – the last team in the Premiership and Football League to so – after only 4 games!
