My knees have seen the glory
Of a thousand bloody wars
A thousand five-nil drubbings
A thousand nil-nil draws
But of all those lofty pitches
That embraced my hardy feet
There was only ever one on which
I did not taste defeat
That was my childhood bedroom
Where I used to run around
And leave a whole team standing
With skills that would astound
A sidestep left, a shimmy right
Football played with soul
I’d leave defenders trailing
And score my fifteenth goal
Although I’ve now stopped playing
I never will give up
The memories of when I won
My seventh FA Cup
