Sed Satiata

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Well I’m quite keen on football,
As keen as anyone.
Out here I follow Genoa,
In England Everton.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I’ve never had a problem
With lapping it all up,
But now we have reached Overkill,
It’s all getting too much.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The Euro Under Twenty-Ones,
At same time, Club World Cup.
Next women from round Europe
Compete for their own Cup…

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I thought I was insatiable,
But now I feel I’m stuffed.
My thirst is slaked, I’ll take a break,
Cos I’ve had quite enough!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 29/6/25
Denys E. W. Jones

Notes

In June 2025 I posted here a poem entitled Sed Non Satiata (Thirst Not Slaked). The title of this poem refers back to that one. This year, as you can see, I have changed my mind. Meden Agan (Nothing in Excess), as the Greeks say.
