Ten Long Years ….

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A club that guided you and protected you,
a city that took you to its heart
It nurtured and supported you …
and gave you a tremendous start.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 A ten year training programme provided
and even sacrifices for you made
Without our patience and development,
you’d have always been second grade.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 For ten years we trained and groomed you,
With free coaching from the best
Ten years we passed on skills to you;
Some you would never have possessed.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And in the games when you had a lazy patch,
Giving no commitment, slow and dull
The fans, didn’t they still back you?
And weren’t your wages still paid in full?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 For ten years you enjoyed the same respect
shown to legends that had gone before
Who showed appreciation with loyalty..
but you thought you deserved much more

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 But the ten years can now be forgotten
not for us, but for you it’s a waste
You haven’t even got the sense to see
the damage you’ve done in all your haste

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 You never thought about the consequences
Just the money, selfish get-rich-quick
Its not just Leeds but the whole of football
and your own countrymen you’ve made sick.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Ten years of one-sided compromise
for someone so quick to forget their roots
Thank God we kept the right one from Oz
Cos you’re not fit to lace his boots.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 It’s not as if you needed it Kewell,
that couple more million quid
Now you’ll always be known as the Buzzard of Oz
that jumped ship for the highest bid.

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 But remember we invested in you freely
and Leeds asked nothing from you in return
There’s one thing you’ve proved without a doubt,
greedy so-and-so’s like you’ll never learn!

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 For ten years you’ve had a top class wage
from a club that took care of your needs
And now we all say ‘thank God you’ve gone,
we don’t want your sort at Leeds.’

Notes

Speaks for itself I think.
