Welcome to Anfield, to its Pantomime.
We have won the Title… it’s party time.
But the atmosphere turned dark and sour.
This change happened just after the hour.

So, what caused this change of mood?
A ‘villain’ entered and was roundly booed.
As from the dugout, Trent appeared.
In Panto fashion, he was childishly jeered.

Was Trent badly advised, possibly so?
His timing was wrong, that we all know.
I’m a Red from the 60’s…very old school.
I thought Kopites had an unwritten rule.

While still in Red, we don’t boo our own.
This is still Trent’s club, still his home.
Just stay silent or show no reaction at all.
Not booing each time he touched the ball.

I felt sadness at those scenes, I felt shame.
We should be above that…’Kopites’ our name.
I wonder what Bill Shankly would have said.
Booing a local lad, while still wearing Red.

Chant for Bradley, belt out the Stevie G song.
But in my opinion, booing Trent, that’s wrong.
After over 20 years, Trent wanted to move on.
If you must show hatred, wait till he’s gone.
