Who is Shrillvia? what is she,
That all our swains, swoon to her command?
Holy, fair, and wise is she;
Heaven help a response to our demand,
That she might more admirèd be.

Is she kind as she is unfair?
For justice lives not with kindness.
Truth doth to her eyes repair,
To help him of his blindness.
And, being helped, inhabits there.

Then to Shrillvia let us sing,
For Shrillvia is compelling;
She expels each mortal thing
Upon this pitch dwelling;
To her let us garlands bring.
