The halfwayline

A cherished spot,
was hard to find,
long as you were there,
and not left behind,
get in the ground
thats all that mattered,
pushing n shoving.
not getting battered.
get down the front
that’ll be fine,
long as you stood
on the halfwayline,
to shout n scream.
or clap in support,
it didn’t matter
this was our fort,
our beloved millwall
when all seemed fine,
long as you stood
on the halfwayline,
it’s how you grew up
from a boy to a man
respected and loved
by your fellow
millwall fan.
every game,
played at the den
the sun always,
seemed to shine,
well it did for us
if you was there
on the halfwayline.
