We’re off to see our heroes
All members of the family
Wives and mothers no longer
Sit chatting and drinking.
We are the interested
At Wembley
To see how our heroes fare.
Alongside our sons, daughters nieces, in-laws
The New Men now Old Men
And the boys, now men who have stepped up to the plate.
Alongside these nappy changers, barbeque chefs
We no longer stay home
But take the opportunity
To see the lap of honour
And question if football is now
The family game.
