Can you believe, we’ve gained our reprieve,
We’re not being cast down to Serie B?
We’re staying in A, for many a day,
Well, for one more bright Season at least.

Oh, what a relief, we’ve been spared the grief
Of stepping down a division.
We won’t have to put up with mick-taking Samp fans,
Won’t have to bear scorn and derision.

If you don’t believe, Palermo will tell
How last Sunday evening we trounced them two-nil,
While Lecce came unstuck at Chievo.

They were beaten one-nil,
So it’s Lecce that gets the old heave-ho.
