The Orchard Cup Draw

At the Orchard Cup draw, all the fruit were excited,
The prunes got a plum tie and thus were delighted.
The oranges knew they’d be favourites to win,
Though the melons were seen as a banana skin.
The strawberries blew raspberries when they got a bad draw,
It went pear-shaped for the apples, who were stunned to the core.
The dates were concurrent and had to be heeded,
But most were surprised that the grapes were unseeded.
