The Reluctant Goalkeeper

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 “Why must I be in goal?” said the goalie
“Just standing in front of this net?”
“Their number “8” can’t kick the ball straight”
“I’ve not had a shot to save yet!”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 “Why must I be in goal?” said the goalie
“It hurts when I dive on the ground.”
“These gloves are too small and they don’t grip the ball.”
“I want to come out and run round!”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 “It wasn’t my fault!” said the goalie
“I thought that the shot would go wide.”
“What made it worse – he handled it first”
“And the other 4 goals were offside!”

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 “PLEASE let me come out!” said the goalie
“I could play centre-forward instead.”
“When I get going, I’m like Michael Owen”
“Oi! Over `ere , son, On my `ead!”

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 “That’s enough!” cried the Ref, blowing his whistle
“I should not have allowed you to play!”
“These kids are 11, – and you’re 47”
“But you sulk and you won’t go away!”

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 “You told them you’d had trials for Chelsea”
“But you play like you’ve got two left feet”
“Now PC McGough, I`m sending you off!”
“So get back to walking your beat!”
