The way it used to be

I remember the way it used to be,
on the North bank , at Highbury,
those breeze block bogs,
the over priced hot dogs,
the crumbling concrete,
people standing on your feet,
surging up and down,
getting trampled on the ground,
hemmed in just like cattle,
an all out pitched battle,
I remember the way it used to be,
on the North bank, at Highbury,
the raucous clapping of hands,
the monotonous brass bands,
‘old bill’ behind the goal,
serenaded with e i e i o,
the ooh`s and aah`s and the roar,
everytime Arsenal scored,
such a feeling of euphoria,
on a packed tube to Victoria,
yeah i remember the way it used to be,
thank God, they`re distant memories.
