There’s a kind of hush….

All around the country
There is a gathering pulse-beat, a small yet vital sign of life
The first heads of the green shoots beginning to push up and out into the light
New kits on the block
Relegation battles over, and now new dreams to dream
New songs to sing
The eternal optimism of the football fan
A never-ending love, albeit unrequited, most times
But the start of a new football season
Is like the first day of spring
The birth of a new born,
Heralding hope, however the journey ends….
