This Cup is Our Cup ! (with a nod to Woody Guthrie)

This cup is your cup, this cup is my cup,
from the Brian Boys West View Stadium, out at Bacup,
from Forest Green Rovers, to Nottingham Forest,
this cup was made for me and you .
As I was walking, out on matchday ,
I thought of Astle, Montgomery, Heighway,
I saw in my minds eye, Charlton’s Valley,
This cup was made for me and you .
By coach and train, or hitch hiking,
Along the Roads, to see the game ,
Portman, Elland, Carrow,Loftus ,
and once or twice, at Gigg Lane .
As I went walking, I saw a sign there,
and the sign it said ” Sold Out “,
This cup was special, this cup was wanted ,
this cup carried, a lot of clout .
I’ve celebrated, or commiserated ,
In many a Park,, that much is certain,
Huish, Blundell, St James’, Glanford,
and just the once down in Twerton .
In the shadow of the TV, I saw the people,
not really watching
They stood ignoring, a game that was ” boring”,
Is this the cup made for me and you?
Nobody living, can ever stop me ,
as I go watching the FA cup replay
Nobody living can make me turn back,
this cup was made for me and you .
