The great thing about turnstiles is thinking about all the thousands of people down the years, who have clicked through them as you pass through. .

Already this season I’ve seeen three beautiful examples at Shortwood FC (Glos, ) Aldershot and now Eastleigh. They are like a metaphor for the turnstile of life by which we arrive .

The day began with the random chat and anticipation on the coach to another Non-League game.
There’s a future poem in there some day on football coach journeys I’m sure, as we wind round hairpin bends up our very own mini-Alps ‘W’ from Nailsworth. We travel to the equally narrow lane entrance at Eastleigh FC , not a few miles from Southampton Airport.

It’s one of those grounds where you can still take and carry a drum through a vintage iron 1905 turrnstile. Whatever happened to our own century old turnstile at the old Lawn ground? . Inadvertently chucked out no doubt with the rubble?
