tied up in notts

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s not Notts. it’s Nottingham if it’s Forest that you mean;
if it’s the other lot you want, Notts. County is your team.
A river runs between the two and Trent Bridge spans the flow.
They both go back in history, but that of course you know.
Notts. County play at Meadow Lane, within the City bounds.
The Reds play in the county, over at the City Ground.
If by now you feel confused, I shall not tease you more.
Just get yourself to Nottingham, and have a guided tour!

Notes

People do get it wrong you know. And it hurts. But seriously, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Meadow Lane, and the City Ground all within spitting distance of each other. And all beautiful. Horse racing, greyhound racing, and water sports within a mile or so. It’s worth a week-end trip. PS very good “specials” at the greyhounds!
