Who’s The Poet In The Black?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 See if you can solve my riddle,
I’ve been dressed in black,
I have a watchful eye,
Though you tell me it’s no use,
Sometimes you call me rude names,
Yes, in all the football games
Ever played, I’ve taken verbal abuse,
Can you tell who am I?
That’s right, the one who takes all your flack,
I’m the man in the middle.

Notes

My tribute to the ref!
The rhyme goes inward from first and last lines and meets in the middle.
Apt for a poem about the man in the middle!
