Liverpool – FA Cup winners 2022!
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool win 6-5 on pens
Dogged Trent, Hendo, Mane
Salah hands Jota the wheel
Virgil off, but there’s Matip and Konate
Mentality monsters are real
Both sides do all but score
Relentless Diaz with the tricks
Time runs out on the dance floor
It’s all down to penalty kicks
Is there a more end to end nil nil?
Glory for which German Schnauzer?
Klopp’s pesky Reds so know the drill
It’s Tsimikas the Greek Scouser
Liverpool ain’t finished yet
Could still be four, or three
A season never to forget
And there’s still that trip to Paris

Valiant Villa seen off late
Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool
Trezeguet did the trick
From McGinn’s free-kick
The Reds all over the shop
Robbo and Mane each a header
It was cruel on the Villa
We’ve a six point lead at the top

Pair o Mickey Mousers en route to a cup tie in Genk
Should have Googled the place fore they went?
Mind you it’s easy for me, smugly extracting the pee,
Pointing out GENT ain’t where two Scouse gent’s should be*
After three hundred and eighty quid has already been spent…
Sat in a bar, watching the game on T.V,
Quaffing moules, mayonnaise n frites
Clutching a couple o U.S match tickets,
Ninety plus miles from the actual event!
*Gent is Flemish for Ghent…pal of mine from Belgie…tells me.

Hi Crispin,
Thanks for the featured poem for the Arsenal Premier League victory. I love that photo showing the Arsenal ladies and fans in full rattle and rosette mode. I’ve seen it before quite a few times and, I think, a bit iconic. I think it was before the Gunners victory against Liverpool in the 1950 FA Cup Final. Great photograph.
Thanks
Joe

Thanks for that Joe. Yes it’s been some season we had a blip but came out of it and finished strong. A mate of mine supports West Ham here in Coventry and my next door neighbour is a Spurs supporter, and both are getting edgy ! I like the Championship though as it’s competitive and has some good teams, players, and fans. Anyway we are back in the top flight and who knows what will happen ?
Cheers. Kev.
