Has left the car park.
The last millionaire
Has hung up his boots.

With former agents,
Living at sea
On their ageing yachts.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Former players,
Relics of the Premier League,
Gently age
In their lonely mansions.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The giant stadia
Now echo only
To the quiet sounds
Of grass growing.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 For the to flight cow
Has been milked dry.
There’s nothing left
For the Pampered Pets.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Lesser clubs
Have ridden the storm,
And are again “Town” clubs,
Not media stars.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 For the fans finally,
Cried “enough”
I have nothing left.
Empty”

Paid your millions,
But we were the ones
Who got the kicking.

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 I’ll watch in the park,
Or even play now.
At least I’ll have enough
For a pint afterwards.

To kick a ball,

To watch a game.
