Prayer For The Reds

I’ve no money no riches of diamonds or gold
But I’ve the crown jewels with a St Michael goal
I’ve no fancy titles I don’t stand out from the crowd
But I’m a Scouser a kopite and that makes me proud

There’s millions more like like me who cheer for the reds
Anfielders each one from our toes to our heads
Every other Saturday we’ve got a full house
Our language unites us that language is Scouse

Walking back from Anfield down onto Queen’s Drive
We’ve no money for buses so we hitch for a ride
If we’re lucky they’ll stop no need to ask “Where you from?”
Otherwise we’ll be walking and singing our songs

We’ve spent all our money on banners and pins
Our prayers remain constant, “Dear God a Reds win”
And in the silence of dreaming the wishes that bloom
We pray we’ll be blessed with our 19th title soon.
