There Every Home Game

The drummer boy is there every home game
Lifting the fans with his rhythm and beat
He gets the supporters singing the songs
Clapping their hands and moving their feet.

The moaning fan is there every home game
And he has to sit in front of me
He slags off the team for ninety minutes
Then calls himself a fan of Coventry City F.C.

The hooligan fan is there every home game
Not there for football but for a fight
Told him that it all belongs in the past
But he isn’t really a fan, nor very bright.

The hardcore fan is there every home game
Never moans just keeps following the team
But longs for us to be back in the Premier
Playing the big clubs now that’s his dream.

Just a few characters to be found at every home game
A day in the life at Coventry City Football Club
Sometimes though I truly wish and hope
That the moaning fan would stay at home or in the pub !
