To often miles apart
Yet we stand by our idols royally
Even when, goals agin us break our hearts.

You’ll find reason why, to turn up again
When your heart strings feel that pull.

In that end without a roof
As the heavens began to empty
Angels’ teardrops on your noodle.*

When ‘The Special’ ain’t turned up
Or three nought down, when you turned it round
From near nightmare in The Cup?

Who endeavour odds against?
And that fans supporting other clubs
Never taste our selfish pain.

Prior to winning a fraught cup-tie?

Straight from a throw in at our place
“Did you see that goal, the geezers brilliant”?
Witnessing envy on every face.
