Football the number One Sport

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Golf is just a good long walk
Tennis a ball hit over a net
Snooker and Darts aren’t a sport
and Swimming you move and get wet.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Cricket is a tedious game played for hours
while Skating is just dancing on ice
Horse Racing is all about the betting
and Wrestling is fixed so that’s not very nice.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Formula One cars go round and round
which is so boring it makes you want to cry
and what’s interesting about a game of Squash ?
I’ve been entertained more watching paint dry.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But if you’re looking for excitement and passion
then Football will be right up your street
when a match has goals and lots of action
as a sport it just can’t be beat.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So all you toffs you stick with Polo
or watch the meaningless Boat Race
but The Beautiful Game will always be number One
and what sport can knock it off top place ?

I love all sport really so this is just a light hearted look at it through the eyes of a football fan.

When you’re competing in any type of sport it feels good, but that doesn’t always mean it comes across as entertaining when you’re watching as a spectator.

I read once though that Fishing is the most popular “sport” in the U.K. Surely that’s not a sport ? That would be interesting on the radio !
