WC2014 Day 3 England doesn’t expect

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 They claim there’s not the weight of expectation
that England teams have had in years gone by;
there’ll be no premature exhilaration;
that hopes and dreams won’t be allowed to fly.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The claim the country’s putting on no pressure –
it knows you’ll never win too much with youth.
The babes will be courageous, fitter, fresher
but won’t win much to tell the honest truth.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 They claim a fortnight’s just about sustainable;
that this time they have realistic views;
that getting out the group might be attainable,
but watch the vicious backlash if they lose!
