embossed with the Brazilian motif.
Public annihilation of a nation.
Stunned, we watched, transfixed in wonder, shaking.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The holes in the defence were quite breathtaking –
we watched it all unfold in disbelief.
Public emasculation of a nation.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 A nation’s soul on live TV was aching.
This should have been a light aperitif.
Public capitulation of a nation.
Stunned, we watched transfixed, in wonder shaking.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 It seemed as though the earth itself was quaking
and on and on it went without relief.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The juggernaut sped down the hill, not braking
and, long before the bottom, came to grief.

Stunned. We watched, transfixed in wonder. Shaking.
