Some Fantasy

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I built a squad around Giroud
and Mata, and some others, who
I’d barely heard of, just to watch
an ankle break, United scotch
what looked to be three wins.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Then things went from bad to worse
a Premier transfer window curse
deprived my squad of El Ahmadi.
Thirty points? It’s . . . well . . . comedy.
The Chelsea section grins.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I stay up late, work permutations,
search online for new sensations,
but results still stay the same.
Once I thought I knew this game.
Now it kicks me in the shins.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And now I care if Cattermole
gets booked, or Bojan scores a goal.
I used to follow the top four.
Now my kids don’t see me anymore.
The spiral down begins.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Some fantasy.

Notes

Playing Fantasy Premier League for the first time this year. Humbling, but it also changes how (and how much) I watch. Have Terry, Cahill and Hazard as well, but while Ivanovic, Costa and Fabregas out-point them in the fantasy charts, I can’t grin with the Chelsea supporters. Ditching the whole squad during the international break unless I go into administration first. TM
