In Those Days

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 In those days of lies that I recall.
The made us feel so guilty and small.
They tried to imply we killed our own.
No respect from some, only malice shown.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 In those days of lies that I recall.
They hoped we had no answers at all.
But our City stood firm, red and blue.
For justice we stood, as the truth we knew.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 In those days of lies that I recall.
Since Duckenfield rolled the first ball.
We listened in anger, we listened in shock.
Lies being told virtually around the clock.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 In those days of lies that I recall.
When McKenzie’s paper set out its stall.
An almighty battle our great City faced.
But victory we always vowed to taste.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 All these years later, the truth’s been told.
A victory banner the Kop’s entitled to hold.
We’ve fought hard together, proud and tall.
Since those days of lies that I recall.
