In 1981 the cylinder was spun.
No shot was fired from that gun.
One chance gone, five remain.
Russian Roulette, a perilous game.

Now a stadium ban, a 6 year break.
Ample time for changes to make.
But the gun’s still loaded in ’88.
A pointed weapon, now down to fate.
¶ 3

The trigger squeezed, chamber blank.
Lady Luck once more to thank.
No smoking gun again to be seen.
But luck running out that’ll only mean.

Ever since that first cylinder spin.
Chances of survival were getting slim.
In ‘89 the gun took aim once more.
Innocent fans the target again for sure.
