Extinction
¶ 1

Yo-yoing up and down
Between divisions one and two,
No winning crown
For fans that are few.

Withheld money
Cold soggy pies,
Now I’m not being funny
Can you hear the cries?
¶ 3

Up to our eye balls in debt
We are a sinking ship,
The club the others forget
For we have been left to rip.
¶ 4

Extinction enters my mind
Surely it cannot be,
Money and lots of it we must find
Can’t you all see?
¶ 5

We can come up with a reason
And try to find some luck,
Before the end of the season
When we’ll be handed the book.

And as the final day draws near
And the season comes to a close,
I face my worst fear
Head on with my woes.
¶ 7

The floodlights die
Tears of sadness we cry,
I turn and sigh
With tears in my eyes for a final goodbye!
