They laid him in his box
A tin of dubbin for his best boots
His shirt his shorts and socks

His widow and his mistress
Unknown to each other prayed

Like floodlights in the night
So gracefull and so peacefull
It somehow just felt right

A linesman read the creed
Both disputed the exact wording
But neither could agree!

As the ushers picked it up
A voice inside in anguish cried
