The Ghost Of Bobby Moore!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s said in dead of night time
As darkness fills East End
A blond haired man
Who never ran
But knew how to defend
Strolls around the Boleyn
As he did in days of yore
This blonde haired man
To all West Ham fans
Was known as Bobby Moore!

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 He took them to the zenith
Of European cup
As Munich 1860
Just weren’t good enough!

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Oh by the way
Jules Rimet shook his godly hand
As England beat those Germans
Exactly like Alf planned!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 As Bobby and the other two
Came up from junior ranks
To scale heights and sites so dizzy
To West Ham we offer thanks!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So as night draws in
Around Boleyn
A blonde hero sports a smile
His memory will never leave us
It’ll be here for quite a while!

Notes

This is the second Bobby Moore poem I’ve written and I think its quite fitting as the ‘Ammers’ have just been promoted.

When I was growing up this bloke was just so….. cool, the word could have been invented with him in mind!

Never ever saw him panic, not once, even doing that one thing the coaches tell you never to do, dribble the ball out of your own penalty area, well he did that and with such style as well! A classy defender who could and would play football, not too many of them about now is there?

peace.

kev.

West Ham’s home is The Boleyn Ground, better known as Upton Park.
