It’s never been about being the best,
looking your best,
coming across as a titan,
capable of taking on all men,
all the hype,

Hard work, belief and mental strength,
to play for something that matters,
not play for your own glory,

take Rio for example,
somehow propelled as a rock,
unbeatable, unstoppable,
making himself like he’s the team,

Take Djimi,
our second longest serving player,
yes believe it if you will,
for his will is to survive,
he’s a fighter,
not the most graceful or elegant,
but he has heart,
he has our soul,
you could see it,
thumping his chest on that bus.

contracts may matter,
but that’s a matter of course,
somethings just matter more.
