For a while I needed to stand alone
For a while my feelings were blown,
Way on high
In the Glasgow sky,
My emotion and passion had grown.

For a while I listened to voices around
For a while I felt like a King to be crowned,
Way on high
In the Glasgow sky,
My thoughts were blown with the sound.

As time passes by, I ask myself why
In my suit and my collar and smart tartan tie,
My heart is beating so proud
While drummers and pipers are playing out loud.

‘The Flower of Scotland’
Their voices did sing.
And soon the boys in blue will appear,
To a deafening sound of an old Scottish cheer.

In my suit and my collar and smart tartan tie
The flag of St Andrews flying on high,
In my suit and my collar and smart tartan tie
I’ll remember this day till I die,
I die, shall remember this day till I die.
