Alas the day arrives once more
When lives were shattered and dreams were torn
a day of excitement soon turned to dismay
As 96 angels left Hillsborough that day

when 96 reds lost their lives
The lies were spread from day one
from the police, the government and that rag ” the scum”

The campaign has raged for 23 years
Through all the heartache, anger and tears
To all the families dignified and true
A city united in honour of you

Joined together by compassion and pride
Everton’s behaviour proved their class
At Wembley and at the Anfield mass

Remember them through laughter and tears
To all the reds who never came home
