Day of Rest

Decimated fixtures approach on Saturday
Why it has changed bothers me
Producers have got to get their own way
But don’t Sundays belong to Italy?
I thought the tradition the FA so adores
To admit it has would mean
Saturdays are for applause
But for Sundays they seem most keen.
Results seem to past me by
If I forget to watch the right TV show
It’s not like I intentionally defy
But Sundays always go so slow.
As results filter through
The rollercoaster ride is done
And a welcome rest is due
But on Sundays it goes on.
